In alignment with the national strategies aimed at fostering a culture of energy conservation and environmental awareness, and in accordance with Tanta University’s role in supporting national and developmental issues, the Training Unit at the Faculty of Pharmacy organized an awareness seminar titled " Energy Rationalization and Conservation: From a Culture of Waste to Responsible Consumption."
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid El-Aassar, Faculty Dean, and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Walaa Negm, Assistant Professor of Pharmacognosy and Manager of the faculty's Training Unit.
The seminar was attended by Mr. Ahmed Dawood, Faculty Secretary-General, as well as a group of faculty members, teaching assistants, administrative staff, and students. The guest speaker was Engr. Mohamed El-Qazzaz, Supervisor of the Electricity Rationalization Department at the South Delta Electricity Distribution Company (West Gharbia branch). The event took place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in the Seminar Hall on the faculty’s ground floor.
The seminar addressed several critical topics aimed at raising awareness regarding the importance of energy efficiency. The guest speaker explored the concept of energy rationalization and its profound environmental and economic dimensions, highlighting the primary causes of electricity wastage and their negative repercussions on both the individual and society.
Furthermore, Engr. El-Qazzaz provided practical guidelines for improving energy efficiency, including optimizing the use of electrical appliances, adopting energy-efficient appliances, and the importance of powering down devices when not in use.
