Historic Overview

  • The Faculty of Pharmacy was first established in 1973/1974 as a department at the Faculty of Medicine, Tanta University.
  • The Prime Minister's Decree (No. 1142 of 1976) was issued regarding the independence of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University.
  • The number of students enrolled to the faculty in the year of its establishment 105 students.
  • In 1981, the faculty was moved to its current location in the University Medical Campus.


The Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University seeks to be at the front of the educational institutions in delivering high quality learning, teaching, scientific research, and community service, both locally and internationally.

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University is committed to providing advanced study programs for the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in order to acquire a competitive edge. Meanwhile, stressing on fostering field and clinical training to provide the community with qualified graduates capable of working in all pharmaceutical fields.
The Faculty is also obliged to supporting scientific research and innovation to enhance the health system, and contributing effectively to the development of the environment and community services, while committing to the ethical and professional values.
