Within the framework of activating the joint cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tanta University and Tanta Sporting Club, in a manner that supports community engagement and the exchange of scientific and cultural expertise, the first educational seminar titled “Challenges of Childhood Obesity” was launched on Saturday, 18 April, at the Conference Hall of Tanta Sporting Club.
The seminar was held under the patronage of Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid Al-Aassar — Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University — and was organized by the Drug and Poison Information Center at the faculty, as part of its commitment to promoting health awareness and strengthening its educational role in addressing community issues.
The seminar was delivered by Asst. Prof. Mariam Abu Seif — Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Coordinator of the Healthcare Nutrition Diploma Program at the faculty. The seminar covered several key themes, including the causes of childhood obesity, associated symptoms, diagnostic approaches, as well as methods of prevention and treatment.
