A Seminar Titled “Searching Information Sources between Traditional Libraries, Digital Libraries, the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, and Artificial Intelligence” at Tanta Faculty of Pharmacy

   Under the patronage of Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid El-Aassar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and in the presence of Prof. Eman Goda Khedr, Acting Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Samah El-Molla — Professor of Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry and Rapporteur of the Faculty Libraries Committee — the Quality Assurance Unit, under the management of Asst. Prof. Maisara El-Bosseiry — Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology and Acting Head of the Quality Assurance Unit — organized a seminar entitled “Searching Information Sources between Traditional Libraries, Digital Libraries, the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, and Artificial Intelligence”, in coordination with the Rapporteur of the Faculty Libraries Committee. It targeted faculty members, teaching assistants, and students.

   The seminar was delivered by Mr. Ibrahim Bassiouny, Director of the Faculty of Arts Library at Tanta University, on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, at 10:30 a.m., in the Seminar Hall on the ground floor of the faculty.

  The event was attended by a distinguished group of faculty members, teaching assistants, and students, along with Ms. Eman Gado, Director General of Libraries at Tanta University; Mr. Mohamed Helal, Faculty Library Secretary-General; and the library staff.

   The seminar addressed the importance of digital libraries and the ease of searching and accessing information resources through them. It also highlighted the significance of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) and the key databases available on it, such as Dar Al-Manthumah and ProQuest. In addition, the seminar discussed the information revolution enabled by artificial intelligence, how to benefit from it, and its most prominent advantages.
