Within the framework of monitoring the implementation of energy consumption rationalization measures, and in line with the directives of the University President, as well as the comprehensive strategic and executive plan aimed at optimizing energy use and maximizing resource efficiency—consistent with the decisions of the Cabinet and the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to adopt national policies that achieve environmental sustainability across university campuses—Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid Al-Aassar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University, convened a meeting on Sunday, 5 April 2026, to follow up on the implementation of these measures. The meeting was attended by Mr. Ahmed Dawood, Faculty Secretary-General, along with the Directors of the various administrative departments.
The meeting emphasized the importance of adhering to the application of energy consumption rationalization measures within the faculty, thereby supporting the State’s orientation toward the optimal utilization of resources and the achievement of environmental sustainability.
A number of key recommendations were reviewed, most notably the rationalization of energy consumption through switching off unused lighting and electrical equipment in offices, lecture halls, and laboratories, and maximizing reliance on natural lighting during daylight hours. Emphasis was also placed on disconnecting electrical devices after working hours and avoiding leaving them on standby mode, including air conditioning units—thus ensuring the achievement of the intended objectives and supporting the state’s orientation toward sustainable development.
