Under the patronage of Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid Al-Aassar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy – Tanta University, and Prof. Eman Goda Khedr, Acting Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and under the supervision of Prof. Naglaa Fathy Khedr, Acting Head of the Department of Biochemistry, and Asst. Prof. Mariam Ali Kamel Abu Seif, Coordinator of the Diploma Program in Nutrition in Healthcare, the practical training for students of the “Diploma in Nutrition and Healthcare” program was launched.
The training focused on the management of obesity and overweight cases and was delivered by Pharmacist Maha Assal, Consultant in Clinical Nutrition and Obesity and Underweight Disorders and Non-Surgical Body Contouring. The training took place on Sunday, 1 March 2026.
During the session, students were trained on how to measure body weight using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology, as well as how to read and interpret the results sheet. The training also covered body-contouring and localized slimming techniques using various devices, including cold sculpting, fat-breaking technologies, and radiofrequency treatments. The session concluded with a presentation of key recommendations for the successful management of different obesity and weight-gain cases.
