The Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University, participated in the First Scientific Conference of Pharmacists at Mit Ghamr General Hospital, held under the title “Transforming the Role of the Pharmacist from Drug Dispenser to Healthcare Provider”, on Tuesday, 13 January 2026.
The faculty participated in response to a kind invitation from Dr. Sherif Hosny Al-Hellow, Director of Mit Ghamr General Hospital; Dr. Mohamed Sharaf El-Din, Deputy Director of the Hospital and Conference Rapporteur; and Dr. Shaimaa Anis Ahmed, Deputy Director for Training Affairs and Supervisor of the Clinical Pharmacists Team. The faculty was represented at the conference by Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid Al-Aassar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University.
The conference was held under the patronage of Prof. Hamouda Al-Gazzar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Dakahlia Governorate, and was attended by a distinguished group of academic and professional leaders. Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid Al-Aassar participated in the conference’s interactive session, where she affirmed the pivotal role of postgraduate programs in bringing about a qualitative change in the role of the pharmacist, enabling pharmacists to become effective and essential partners within the healthcare system. This, she noted, ensures the provision of integrated, patient-centered healthcare services, while keeping pace with the latest research developments and labor market requirements.
At the conclusion of the conference activities, the participating guests were honored. The Dakahlia Pharmacists Syndicate also presented the Syndicate Shield and certificates of appreciation to the Hospital Director, the two Deputy Directors, Dr. Abdullah Keshk, and Dr. Sally Anwar, Chief Pharmacist at the Hospital and Head of the Pharmacy Department, in recognition of their efforts and their distinguished role in supporting and developing the clinical pharmacy system.
