Tanta University held a major event on Thursday, December 4, 2025, to mark the closing event of the presidential “Tamkeen” (Empowerment) initiative at the university. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President; Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. El-Sayed El-Agooz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mamdouh El-Masry, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University’s Center for Services for Persons with Special Needs; several deans, vice deans, faculty members, and Dr. Mohamed Mereikab, Manager of the Center of Services for Students with Disabilities. The event also attracted wide participation from students with disabilities and their parents, and was held at the Conference Hall in the headquarters of University Administration.
A delegation from Tanta Faculty of Pharmacy attended the event including Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid Al-Aassar – Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Naglaa Abdel Aziz El-Shetany – Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Eman Goda Khedr – Acting Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Sherin Farouk Hammad – Acting Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry, Prof. Marwa El-Hammamsy – Acting Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Prof. Naglaa Fathy Khedr – Acting Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Prof. Ahmed Goda – Acting Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, and Mohamed Khaled Mohamed Atiya – Second-year student in the Bachelor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University President, highlighted that the “Tamkeen” initiative, inspired by the presidential vision, has strengthened Tanta University’s capacity to provide all necessary support and training programs to ensure the full integration of students with disabilities into university life and academics. He added that, under the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led by Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, the initiative has been implemented in 28 specialized centers for students with special needs across the country.
Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid Al-Aassar expressed her sincere gratitude to Prof. Mohamed Hussein for his continuous support of students with special needs and extended her appreciation to all contributors to the successful closing activities of the presidential “Tamkeen” initiative at Tanta University, recognizing their dedicated efforts in organizing these impactful programs.
