Tanta Faculty of Pharmacy Participates in the Annual Scientific Day of the Oncology Department at the Health Insurance Medical Complex Hospital in Gharbia

   The Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University, participated in the Annual Scientific Day organized by the Oncology Department at the Health Insurance Medical Complex Hospital in Gharbia on Monday, October 5, 2026. The event was held as part of the celebration of World Pharmacists Day and brought together leading oncologists, pharmacists, faculty members, and specialists in clinical pharmacy and oncology treatment. 

   The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Tamer Madkour, Chairman of the Health Insurance Organization; Dr. Karim Barakat, Director of the Gharbia Health Insurance Branch; Dr. Ahmed Salem, Director of the Health Insurance Medical Complex Hospital in Gharbia; Dr. Salwa Magdy, Head of the Oncology Department at the Medical Complex; and Dr. Heba El-Shorbagy, Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department and Coordinator of the Scientific Day.

   The Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University, was represented by Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid Al-Aassar, Faculty Dean; Prof. Kamelia Abu El-Saud, Professor of Pharmacognosy and former Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Osama Ibrahim, Professor of Clinical Pharmacy; Asst. Prof. Mariam Abu Seif, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry; Dr. Amira Roshdy, Lecturer of Clinical Pharmacy; and Assistant Lecturers Marwa El-Sayed Hassan and Rania El-Anwar from the Department of Pharmacognosy, and Hadeer El-Sheikh from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy.

   The event was also attended by Dr. Hany Donia, Head of the Gharbia Pharmacists Syndicate; Dr. Mohamed Abdel Sattar, Senior Pharmacist at the Hospital and Director of the Pharmacy Administration at the Medical Complex; several physicians from the Oncology Department; pharmacists from the hospital and the Gharbia Health Insurance Branch; and a number of faculty members, specialists, and professionals interested in oncology treatment and clinical pharmacy.

   The program featured a series of specialized scientific lectures addressing the latest developments in oncology treatment. The lectures were delivered by Dr. Osama El-Daly, Head of the Medical Oncology Department at the Damietta Oncology Institute, and Dr. Ghada Emam, Deputy Director of the National Cancer Institute in Cairo. The sessions covered several topics related to clinical practice in oncology, providing an opportunity for participants to exchange scientific knowledge, professional expertise, and practical experience.
