Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President, attended the activities of the Tanta University Forum for Professional Development, Innovation, and Internationalization, “TUI² FORUM 2026,” on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The forum was held under the patronage of Prof. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of Prof. El-Sayed El-Agouz, University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Acting Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, along with a number of faculty deans, faculty members, directors of specialized centers and units, and representatives of companies and institutions participating in the forum.
As part of Tanta Faculty of Pharmacy’s participation in the forum, Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid Al-Aassar, Faculty Dean, participated in judging the Innovative Projects and Prototypes Competition, serving as Chair of the judging committee.
Prof. Eman Goda Khedr, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Sherin Farouk Hammad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, also participated in the forum. The faculty was also represented by fifth-level student Nour Amr Mohamed El-Bassyouni and fourth-level student Mohamed Abdel Rahman Hassan Bargoula, who participated as members of Tanta University’s Sustainability and Innovation Ambassadors Team. Both students are enrolled in the Bachelor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Program.
The judging committee evaluated the ideas and projects submitted by students based on a set of criteria, including innovation, feasibility, economic viability, societal impact, and potential for development and sustainability. This contributed to selecting projects with the potential to evolve from ideas and prototypes into viable applications and projects.
Tanta Faculty of Pharmacy’s participation in the judging process reflects its commitment to supporting innovation and encouraging students to apply their scientific knowledge and skills to develop innovative ideas and solutions that address the needs of society and the labor market. It also contributes to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and linking academic learning to practical application.
The forum featured discussions of 42 innovative projects involving 137 male and female students, competing across nine main areas: digital transformation and artificial intelligence; economics, entrepreneurship, and investment; sustainability, climate action, and smart cities; smart agriculture and food security; healthcare and medical technology; innovation for people with disabilities; industry and advanced technology; human development, professional development, and inclusion; and creative industries and cultural identity.
The forum reflects Tanta University’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for innovation and professional development and providing students with opportunities to present their ideas and projects to specialists and representatives of the business and industrial sectors. This offers opportunities for sponsorship, incubation, support, and investment in promising projects and contributes to transforming innovative ideas into viable and scalable projects.
