As part of the joint cooperation between Tanta University and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), and in line with the university’s commitment to strengthening its community engagement and promoting scientific awareness among young learners, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University, welcomed students of the sixth phase of the Child University Program, First Specialized Year (F1), which is dedicated to students in the medical specialization, on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

   The visit was held under the patronage of Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansoua, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Mamdouh Moawad, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT); Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Tanta University President; and Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President of Tanta University for Community Service and Environmental Development.

   The visit’s activities were held under the supervision of Prof. Mona Abdel Hamid Al-Aassar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; and Prof. Sherin Farouk Hammad, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, in coordination with Prof. Samir Qamh, Coordinator of the Child University Program at Tanta University, and Dr. Walaa Negm, Coordinator of the Child University Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy.

   The activities included a specialized scientific lecture on the sensory system, delivered by Dr. Amira Roshdy, Lecturer in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy. The lecture introduced the five senses and explained how they function, how sensory receptors detect environmental stimuli and transmit nerve signals to the brain, and how the brain ultimately interprets these signals and responds to them.

   The faculty also ensured that the scientific content was presented in a simplified and interactive manner appropriate to the students’ age through a range of interactive scientific activities and experiments. These activities provided the children with opportunities to participate, explore, and practice the scientific concepts addressed during the lecture.

   The visit reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University’s commitment to helping prepare a scientifically aware generation and encouraging children to adopt learning through exploration, experimentation, and scientific thinking. It also seeks to foster their interest in medical and pharmaceutical sciences and support the university’s efforts in education, scientific awareness, and community service.
