In the context of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Development” launched by H.E. President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic, the awareness seminar titled “Arms and Drug Trafficking and Addiction Treatment” started at Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University. It was organized under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, Tanta University President, and under the supervision of Prof. Mona Abdel-Hamid Al-Aasar, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy at Tanta University, and Prof. Naglaa El-Shetany, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and Student Activities Coordinator at the faculty. It was coordinated by Mrs. Fotna Zeyada, Manager of Student Welfare Department at the faculty, and the General Administration of Student Welfare at the university. Additionally, the seminar was delivered by Prof. Farouk Fathy El-Gazzar, Assistant Professor of Economics at Faculty of Commerce, Tanta University, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the seminar hall on the ground floor of the faculty.
The seminar addressed the following topics: an introduction to drugs and their types, an introduction to money laundering and its stages, and the illegal trade in weapons and the varying impact of arms trade according to local and national laws.
